Risk Disclosure
Last updated 30 October 2026
Trading USDT for birr involves real risks. This page sets out the ones that matter most before you open an order.
01Digital assets are volatile
The value of USDT and other digital assets can change quickly, and the birr rate you agree with a trader is set by that trader at that moment. ETX Exchange does not guarantee any price, return or outcome.
02You are trading with another person
In a P2P trade the birr and the USDT move between two traders. ETX records the order, reserves the USDT amount and reviews disputes, but it is not the buyer or the seller and cannot force a counterparty to act.
Only trade with money you can afford to have tied up while an order or a dispute is open.
03Payments are final
Bank and mobile money transfers you send cannot be recalled by ETX Exchange, and blockchain transfers cannot be reversed once broadcast. Check the amount, the account and the network before you confirm anything.
04Network and address mistakes
Sending USDT on the wrong network, or to an address that does not belong to you, can permanently lose the funds. Always compare the address and network shown in the app with the one in your wallet.
05Counterparty and verification limits
Identity verification reduces, but does not remove, the risk of dealing with a bad-faith counterparty. Keep conversations, references and receipts inside the trade room so they can be reviewed if something goes wrong.
06Account security is shared
You are responsible for keeping your password, authenticator codes and passkeys private, and for signing out of shared devices. Anyone with access to your sign-in can act on your account.
07Law and taxes
Rules on digital assets differ between countries and can change. You are responsible for meeting the legal and tax obligations that apply to you.
08No advice
Nothing on ETX Exchange is investment, legal or tax advice. Decide for yourself, or consult a professional, before you trade.
